Good Morning, Baltimore

After meaning to do so for several weeks, I finally downloaded the Hairspray soundtrack off of iTunes. I saw the film while visiting the Troll in Maryland earlier this summer. Obviously, both the Sun and Baltimore magazine gave the movie 5 stars. That's why I love the irony of the South. Let's take a horrific issue like segregation, add a musical score to the era, and make Jim Crow appear to be almost nostalgic. Regardless, the new Hairspray ran circles around the Ricki Lake version and I wholeheartedly recommend you check it out. The cast is fantastic and I'll likely be blaring "You Can't Stop the Beat" from the Crossfire for a long while.
