Thursdays with Zayde

  • I finally managed to get an IRA set up through Fidelity's website. Retirement in 2045? Here I come!

  • What does one do if they're watching TV with their 84 year old grandfather and there's a Hollywood writers strike? Tune into a Canadian WWII documentary on PBS of course. Gotta love those WWII docs. No matter how many times you watch 'em, we still win.

  • My new TV is coming next week which I am so excited about, despite the fact that there is still nothing on TV to watch aside from Canadian WWII documentaries.

  • I think today Zayde (grandpa) and I are going bowling with his bowling league. I'm not very good at big ball bowling so it's going to be pretty embarrassing to get my ass kicked by my Grandpa. It doesn't help that he's super competitive. Maybe I should get him a Wii?

  • My trip into Logan yesterday wasn't too terrible. Commuter rail to South Station, switch to Silver to Logan. I sat next to a group of three foreign students on the Silver Line; 2 from Korea, one from France. It was kind of entertaining to watch them have a conversation with each other in heavily accented English. In an effort to show them why Boston is so kick-ass and friendly I explained to them where they would need to go in order to catch their flights. Hopefully they found terminal B ok.....

  • The Summer Shack in terminal A now stocks soft-serve ice cream. With DQ in Brockton closed all winter long, this discovery definitely made my day.
  • Go Pats!!
